Beverly Carter was one of the top real estate agents in the state of Arkansas, and ever since there'd been a wave of rising crime against real estate agents, she'd taken safety seriously. She always made sure her husband, Carl, knew where she was if she was showing a property, and she'd even come up with a code word to use with her fellow real estate agents if any of them felt like they were in danger. On the night of September 25, 2014, Beverly was showing a house to a couple that claimed to be relocating from out of state. The appointment was a 6, but when Beverly still wasn't home at 8:45, her husband Carl started to panic. He drove over to the property she was showing to find her car parked in the driveway with her purse inside, but no sign of Beverly anywhere.
